Resource Committee Chair - Pam Frisk

Responsible for:

  • Maintaining the 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas Resource Guide.
  • Distributing Resource Guide annually to membership of the 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas at no charge. May be sold to 9-1-1 public educators outside of Texas for a reasonable charge (currently set at $10 per copy).
  • Creating a packet for national distribution regarding 9-1-1 public education programs in Texas.
  • Providing input for the development and design of new 9-1-1 materials.
  • Targeting new audiences for future public education campaigns.
  • Reporting activities to general membership at regular meetings as necessary.
Connie Chavarria

Mentoring Committee Chair - Connie Chavarria

Responsible for:

  • Initiating/maintaining a program to match new public educators with experienced public educators in the 9-1-1 field.
  • Developing guidelines outlining mentors responsibilities.
  • Maintaining a database of mentoring volunteers with biographical information so that people can be matched geographically and according to organizational dynamics.
  • Developing and distributing an association package for newcomers.
  • Reporting activities to general membership at regular meetings as necessary.
Jeanna Olberts

Public Information Committee Chair - Jeanna Olberts

Responsible for:
  • Keep public educators updated on new issues that may impact their 9-1-1 message. Forward information/articles to Secretary for e-mail distribution.
  • Offer strategies for addressing public information needs dealing with current topics in the 9-1-1 industry.
  • Providing information/assistance with questions regarding media relations, public relations and fund-raising events.
  • Reporting activities to general membership at regular meetings as necessary.
Pattie Hanon

Telecommunicator Recognition Committee Chair - Pattie Hanon

Responsible for:
  • Identifying ways to recognize the telecommunicators across the state of Texas.
  • Soliciting information from 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas on what they are doing locally to recognize their telecommunicators both during telecommunicator week and throughout the year.  Information can then be compiled and distributed to the general membership at a regular meeting.
  • Reporting activities to general membership at regular meetings as necessary.

Liaison to TX-NENA Committee Chair - Not yet filled

Responsible for:
  • Coordinating activities that are of mutual interest to 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas and TX-NENA. These activities may include, but are not limited to input regarding conference session topics and telecommunicator recognition efforts.
  • Serving as an active member of TX-NENA.
  • Send quarterly updates to editor of the TX-NENA Transfer.
Sandy Issel

Historian/Website Liaison Chair - Sandy Issel

Responsible for:
  • Compiling and maintaining an accurate record of history for the 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas.
  • Soliciting information from 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas, as needed.
  • Retrieving and distributing historical information as requested.
  • Reporting activities to general membership at regular meetings as necessary.
  • Oversee maintenance of the 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas web site.
  • Serve as a liaison between membership of the 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas and the web master.
  • Reporting activities to general membership at regular meetings as necessary.
